Her Visit
On the morrow
When we say our goodbyes
Can I say that you changed my life?
The confidence.
The swagger.
Diminished and uncertain
Will search your approval.
Your benevolent dagger.
Your smirk and your smile.
The limp bodies in your wake
Kissed by your fatal lips
I will wash and bathe and bury and burn.
The broken houses.
The weary streets .
Where you danced gaily in the summer of gloom
Will come together as I weave a temple in your name ,
Tortured and twisted
Uncertain and beautiful.
Hark the birds fly off once again.
The trees shed their green coats.
The tiger walks his familiar path.
The rivers smile no more.
Maybe you left today?
I shall hear from you again I know.
The soft tread of your gruesome feet again
Will remind me of all I have
All I cherish,
Can be no more.
